I'm currently trying to remove the tachometer sending unit from my 63' Avanti. The directions are vague stating only to remove it and its location. I've spend a considerable amount of time trying to figure out how it's mounted with no luck. I've searched the forums in hopes to find a way to remove the unit without removing the dash, still with no luck. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Shaun

The sender is over the drivers right knee...

Take a look at this and you'll see how it's fastened....

If I had to do that in my car, I would start by removing the drivers seat and putting some comfortable pillows in its place.

I removed the tach head in order to gain access to the sending unit in my 63 Avanti. It's still A PITA to remove the sending unit, but you can do most of the work through the hole in the instrument panel. Bud
