It occurred to me that the grille on a '62 Lark is somewhat pumpkin-shaped, so...

          Anne--

Was thinking, "how to make a C-cab look like a wild turkey?" then thought of something else:

You could still use the Cars-style eyes...but build and install up top a giant Pilgrim hat. Would look like a 17th-century version of the NAPA ballcap!

              LOL!!

(I didn't drive the Lark with the jack-o-lantern in place BTW; didn't even start the engine for this pic, just turned the key halfway to allow the lights to be switched on...)

HUH? Someone wired your Headlights through the Ignition Switch?

Unless it has been modified, you should be able to operate the Horn, Stop Lights and Parking or Headlights with the Key OFF! [:0]

                  Rich--

Really! I'll have to test that. Frankly it hadn't occurred to me to try turning the lights on sans key. (The Lark did get restored long ago, though, and it could be that some electrical mischief went on during that process...)

                  S.

EDIT...Rich, you're right, the lights work just fine sans key. Must have been thinking of some of the modern iron.

Not to pick nits, Steve, but I notice that your parking lights aren't on with the headlamps... something else you might want to check out.

Clark, they are wired that way originally. Not until the advent of side marker lamps & such did parking lamps light up with the headlamps. Only on Hawks with the lighted "spears" on top of the front fenders were there any other lamps that lit up with the headlamps.

Ha! Thank you very much Warren! I was trying to figure out why, after my brand-new wiring was installed, my Lark had this "problem" too! Your explanation has saved me a ton of frustration
