  • How much $ for you favorite Studebaker?

In one of the other threads the subject of a vehicles worth was discussed. It was mentioned that some people want more than the actual going price for their car. I got to wondering - what price would it take for you to accept an offer on your favorite Studebaker? I'm not talking about one you bought to sell, but one that you have had for a while and lost some knuckle skin to keep it going. Let's say somebody walked up to you and said; "I'll give you $XX,XXX for your car". What price would that have to be before you would say yes?

All mine are for sale for the right price. In fact some need to go now. How about swinging by with a big trailer and see what we can work out?

I'd sell the '58 sedan for a reasonable amount. I'm not really attached to it. The '59 pickup, heh, just see how high you wanna go.

Although it was restored as a driver but I was fussy about paint/trim/upholstery/wheel covers etc. looking authentic, and now it's leaking AT fluid (!), I had told the grandson of the original owner of my Skytop that I'd take $17K for it. He felt that was a tad 'dear'! But I'm not in any hurry to sell.

I don't know what I'd take for my '64 Daytona HT. Its condition was disappointing to me when it arrived (seller exaggerated), but is solid in some places my '63 definitely wasn't. I'm pretty amazed to see it still has its original front fenders (and they look nice too!).

I'd take $12,500 for the only one I've got. Is anyone interested?

Not that I wouldn't have to still think about, this would probably work for me. Maybe.....

It would take a HUGE amount of money to get me to part with my 50 Champion, but if someone wanted to swap a real nice Lark convertable.....

I have had as many as 10 studebakers at one time. Right now I am down to six. The very first one I owned is my 1955 E5 truck. Around 1978 a man tried to buy the truck from me. I said it was not for sale. He said that he was selling a house and as soon as that deal was done he would come back and keep laying cash in my hands until the truck was his! I never saw him again. About twenty years later, a friend handed me a check made out for over ten times the amount I paid for the truck. I handed the check back to him and said that I would promise to save his marriage by never telling his wife how much he offered to pay me...and asked him to save my marriage by never revealing to my wife how much I turned down. I won another 1st place trophy with my truck about 3 weeks ago.

I have always said "It's nice to own things but things never own me" So if the right money shows up for my 55 I'd let it go and hunt a nice Hawk.

Hmmmm, maybe try me, its going to have to be alot to get me to part with mine! I know its not worth alot compared to some, so they are going to want it more than me, and that is almost impossible, lol.
