We have been taking it easy for the past few months. John had surgery, and while everything turned out well, recovery was slower than he anticipated. With his activities no longer restricted, we have both been anxious to spend some more time with the Studebakers.
Our timing couldn't be better! The weather is cooling off in Arizona and our "comfortable" car show season is just beginning. We eagerly registered the truck for the Buckets, Blowers, and Bombers Show & Shine car show at the Commemorative Air Force Museum. This show was a benefit car show for the museum and was hosted by Hot Rod Planet Promotions.
The show was a great mixture of all types of vehicles, including a '50 bulletnose and a '63(?) Lark. One of the most awesome opportunities, though, was the chance to have our truck's picture taken with the B25 Maid in the Shade. To learn more about the museum, you can visit www.azcag.org.
You could also have the pin-up girls pose with your vehicle. They were sweet girls and very respectful of the truck. Unfortunately, our cooler weather turned into 100+ degrees. The girls did a good job of not looking like they were melting!
It's not hard to imagine the truck in a different time and place with the switch to black and white (the dates might not be correct, but we can still enjoy the thought!)
We will post more pictures soon, but we were too excited to wait to post them all at the same time. What a fun day!
