  • Stolen lazy S locking gas cap

Yep I was at a local tractor pull last month and some low life stole the Chrome gas cap off my 58 truck.
So be on the look out on E-bay ect. Here locally it well probably be mine I didn't have it in the lock postion so they just walked by and took it.
Well the joke is on them the S stands for Stant the manufacturer not Studebaker. I made it myself and put the flip key cover on it off another cap it looked for all the world as an original. Orginal enough to be stolen. I didn't think these caps were worth much but just yesterday I went to a meet and saw a cap that looked just like mine only shiney new in the box it has in small print Packard written on it. Selling price $275.00 Dollars "WOW' So I'd say mine to someone who has no idea their about to be taken be a swindler may pay a great deal more then it's really worth.

I saw a couple of guys hanging around my truck but I had no idea they were up to no good. All I know was he was tall and it was at the Kitsap county Airfield where it was taken.
I have another cap but its just a painted one and I'd say no big deal but I hate thiefs even stupid ones that don't know what their takeing. I will keep a closer eye on my truck at shows from now on, and will probably even take my full disc hubcaps off it and lock the cab. So out there some where lurking is a low life scum bag just out to be an ass and rip people off for no good reason.

I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around, He will be rewarded.

I don't know what state you live in but here in california they have this karma stuff,
Heard of it when I was a kid but being raised in Texas I thought it was a terminal illness John Lennon had.
Maybe he (your thief) will catch it.
      Hopefully so!
      Dean.

I bought one of those old Stant locking caps for my Studebaker on eBay several years ago. It didn't fit. I think it's still in my shed.

I picked one off eBay, with keys, but that was months ago. I don't think I'll be using it, so if you really, really want one, PM me.

I saw one at the Monroe swap meet a couple of weekends ago it was cherry like new and had to be made by the same company. It looked [u]very</u> close to mine. "Only" it had Packard in small letters stamped on it asking price $249.00 and I wouldn't be a bit surprized if he'll get it if he holds out long enough on it.
