  • drum puller

Those in need of or desire a rear drum puller there are several vintage
ones on ebay at the moment. Original American made. Not cheap Chinese models.

Just to be clear (for those few folks that do not know) - Be sure you buy a "Hub" puller[^], not a "Drum" puller[:0][B)] for your Studebaker!

      This is a hub puller.

Your right. I should have said hub to avoid confusion.

We bought one like this about a year and a half ago on ebay:

          Worked like a charm!

As I could not readily find the type specified in the Stude Shop manual, I bought 2 like the one pictured here so I could get 5 arms and a more even pull all the way around the hub - I have heard of folks having some difficulties as the use of 3 arms on 5 studs does result in an uneven pull.

I've never had a problem with the three arm hub puller, but that home grown one looks like it would give a nice even pull.

I have seen a couple of instances where the drum/hub was damaged from a 3 arm unit... I have also used them without problem. Having 5 arms just provides greater certainty of an even pull.

I bought one about a year and a half ago from Stude Int'l. Worked like a charm. It was in great shape when I received it. It wasn't cheap, but was well worth it.
