The owner of this `faux taxi' should put some door handles where the rear doors are supposed to be. Then it would be amusing to see how many people try to open the `faux' doors [8D]

Since you brought it up. How do you convert the image to jpeg?

2 door taxi is odd. Owner preference I suppose

I think you would have to take the photo and save it into your own photo album (such as photo bucket or flickr) and then you could post it here.

Here is the real deal. I have been meaning to post these and some other pictures from the VA Transportation Museum in Roanoke. I will try to do the rest tonight.

Milaca--

That'd be a hoot...but it would work best not on a Lark, but on a 53-55 2dr sedan, with those wacky two-piece rear quarters that make the car look like a 4dr converted to a coupe on the cheap!

(I still think the 53-55 2dr sedan was Stude's somewhat startled response to the higher-than-expected demand for the Bourke coupes vs. the sedans in those years...Whatever the reason...I'll admit it, freely, I actually like those 2drs. A lot. I want one.)[:p]

I agree, that would look very convincing :D
It seems odd to me that Studebaker didn't at least put body filler in those seams. Oh well, quirkiness adds character!

Yep. (My pref would be for a 54 Commander 2dr; I like the "teeth" in the grilles that year. I'd find and add a set of the '55 chrome/stainless "boomerangs" that disguise the rear quarter seams. Or, as an out-there alternative, turn the almost-doors into actual aft-opening doors, like on an x-cab truck, or a Saturn Quad Coupe or Mazda RX8. Now that would catch the eye at a cruise!)
