George came home with a flyer today for a Maui Blue '53 Starlight Commander Coupe. SURPRISE! I never knew this car was here in Lewiston.:D I've made arrangements to see Trevis and take pictures tomorrow. The car supposedly was parked ten years ago and hasn't run since. Apparently, there was a problem with the motor and he never got to fixing it. There's some rust in the right rear fender, clean other than that. He said the interior was re-done in the eighties and still looks good.

Who wants to guess what he's asking for it?;) I'll find out tomorrow.:D;)

Ooooo...go get it!

(In my imagination, I see it parked nose to tail with my blue Lark; they match real well...:D For whatever reason, I have come to realize that the Bourke 53-54 "lowboys" are generally a favourite design of mine, but I actually prefer a car like this--the pillared coupe--over the HT. I'm told they're a bit easier to restore because the body, once apart, is less rigid on the pillarless HT and tends to "bend". That's not why I like the post cars better though. It's an esthetic thing I can't quite figure out!)

And sometimes NOT so much hidden~

Within a week of moving up here I found three or more Studes
(or Packards) that Dad had never known about. [:0] :D
All were in plain view, and within about five miles of his house~
the one where he's lived for the last TEN years or so!!!

Sorta like all those Studes that popped up in San Diego just before I left--
they were right under my nose all that time!!!

Ahhhhh... but it is a pillared coupe.;)[8D]

I'd love to bring it home, Steve. Problem is, right now, I couldn't even afford the wheel covers.:( The up side is that I can still look, take pictures, and share them here with someone who just might be able to give the old girl a home.:D

Yeah... that makes two of us Steve. In fact, I would have loved to have the Champion that just ended (on the 'bay) out in Minnesota. I must concentrate on what's at hand.

Well, eggs on my face here. Looks like a false alarm. This guy brought the car home ten years ago and hasn't done a thing with it since. His wife got sick of that,'old thing out in the garage,' and posted the for sale signs. So...

Sorry, false alarm.[:I][8)][:o)]
