  • Owning a Stude has finally begun to pay off

Had to remove the back seat to get the new rear wiring harness in, and I found this:

That's right, genuine US tender! A 1979 "D", no less [)] I also found two unsmoked ciggys in the passenger's side front seat track.

Actually, another good day! Got the taillight harness in and connected, so that makes the wiring brand-new from prow to stern. I will feel lots better about it on the road! Unfortunately, I found another hole in the floor too, right where the driver's rear wheelwell meets the floor, about the size of a dime. So that's two holes I'll have to fix.

But I found two more pennies under the rear carpet, so it's all good

You can patch a dime sized hole with a penny but you can't patch a penny sized hole with a dime. Does this make any cents??

Many, many years ago, when I first bought the car you see below... I remember getting excited cuz I only paid $50 for it, but found several dollars in change stuffed in the ashtray. It was like getting an instant refund. I still check all the ashtrays and rear seats for what may be lurking. No great finds, but the thrill of the hunt is always there.

Glad you got the harness completely in.

During the restoration of my '54, which had been off the road from 1966 to 1996, I found a 1941 Mercury Dime in the rear edge of the front seat. Then on the frame up near the brake light switch was a 1956 wheat penny. I wan't too surprised by the dime, but I can't figure why the wheat penny was where it was. Maybe someone was bragging to someone else in the early days about how smooth his little Champion idled, and had the penny balanced on the engine.

My Grandfather use to keep a penny sitting on top of the battery on his Int. Travelall
So that the penny would corrode and not the battery cables.
Maybe thats how it got there?

Well, I had thought about using it on bumper stickers, but a bumper sticker would have to be about 5 feet long in order to fit the quote. Therefor, go ahead and use it anyway you like

I got a used washer and dryer years ago for $60. The dryer needed a new element when I tuck it apart I found $162.00 in it one of the best deal I ever got.

                          Thats funny stuff right there!
Only 5 inches long? You may be able to patch a dollar bill size hole with your bumper sticker...
