how many standards were produced in 1963

Believe it or not, there's never been figures found that tell how many of a given model Studebaker produced for 1963. There are figures for total 2-drs, 4-drs, wagons, etc, but no breakdown as to how many were standards, Daytonas, etc.. To have such figures, someone would have to take on the task of counting thru over 80K production orders![xx(]

    1957 Transtar 1/2ton
    1963 Cruiser
    1960 Larkvertible V8
    1958 Provincial wagon
    1953 Commander coupe
    1957 President two door

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I can't find a number for Standards, but they were available in two-door, four-door and wagons apparently in either six or eight cylinder versions. I remember seeing a Standard two-door six at a dealer with big numbers on it- $1,798.

I've wondered myself. As a thought exercise, if we consider that 1963 was a low-production year, that the Standard was a mid-year introduction, was NOT a sexy car, and would typically have been used by dealers as a loss-leader to upsell to a higher-margin car, I would be extremely surprised if they accounted for more than 10% of total production. And that's being generous.

Will the number on cowell tag tell us any thing? I can get my number and we can collect some more and see where it takes us?
