62 GT hawk FOR SALE

I got my car back yesterday from a garage where the guys actually have good knowledge of old cars. Most of us here were thinking I had a fuel problem which caused the car to stop running after 30 seconds.

It was the points.

So now the car is running great and the brakes are working great and I'm happy about that. The car is still for sale and I'm asking $9500.

I'm located not far from Minneapolis, MN.

Did they change the condenser at the same time? Because I don't see how bad points would start at all then die like that.

I had the same problem (kind of) with my 62 Hawk. Didn't think of points because I probably didn't have 200 miles on them when they went bad. They are the kind of points that have the condensor as one piece. The local parts house wanted around $40.00 for them. I opted for a Pertronix system... best decision since I went to an Edelbrock Carb!!! The Hawk runs better than anything else I have. If I can just fix the front main leak now...

Gordy, I am taking a loss (of course), but I am asking $9500. The car has stock AC (not charged, though). It also has great Phantom seat covers, just like the originals. It still needs some weatherstripping and carpet. The floor is solid and has been coated with a black sealer.

The only mechanical issue I know of is a leak in the transmission seal where the selector shaft enters.

Yes, the condenser was changed as well as the points.

Such a beauty! Best luck on the sale. If I didn't already have 2 '62 GTs, I'd be very tempted.
