  • t cab pickups steering

    I am going to try a 78 f--d 1/2 ton 2wd steering box coupled to a lark column and stude powersteering pump on my 62 t cab anyone ever herd of or tryed such combo susfull or unsusfull thanks henry

    No Henry, I haven't, but I'm gonna try another setup on my 61 Champ once the weather starts to cool down some. Keep us posted on how you did it! I plan on using a Mercedes 123 chassis gearbox with an "Ididit" column & try the stock Stude power steering pump. I remember this last february Turning Wheels having a blurb on a Champ with power steering & the picture looked like a Mercedes pump. Anyone know of this truck??

        I think this truck from Reedsville in 2008 had a Mercedes pump.

          That would be Ted Jensens truck, you can usually find him over on the Studebaker Truck Talk forum, ask him how he did it, he'd be more than happy to tell you about it. Keep in mind the photo's are of a C Cab

          Drives it everyday.....came from NY to C Rapids for the meet.

          He had offered the truck up for sale a week or two ago.

              Interesting. In recent wanderings in the local parts yard, I've looked at those Mercedes boxes with interest. They SURE look like likely candidates to me![^]
