  • Torque converter number question?

I have 2 torque converters. The one that came out of the car has 138604-FT on it The other is 131858-FT. Is there a difference in the stall? Or is one just older than the other?

    Thanks,
    Gordon

I remember a single letter stamped in the converter that determined if it was a regular FOM or a powershift converter. I'm not sure but the stamped "H" sits in my mind as the powershift converter, but I could be wrong on that.

Thanks for the info Warren. Somewhere in my pile of FOM's I have one from a 61 6cyl first gear start. I wasn't sure if the 131558-FT was the converter for the 61. Thought it might have a different stall speed because of the 6 cylinder.

      Thanks again,
      Gordon
