6 volt fuel pump $30?

Has anyone had any experience with this pump which is said to be what I need for my 1950 Champion?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.


ELECTRIC replacement pumps
NAPA - ECHELIN 610-1050 - is a solid state, inline, rotary pump, freely
found in NAPA stores. Lightweight allows you to just let it hang in line with
the fuel lines. no reliability issues reported yet, although they're chheap
enough ($30) to buy 2 and keep one next to it.

Does it have a regulator? If not, you'll need that for sure, and perhaps some pressure type kill switch in the event of an unscheduled full engine stop.

I checked with NAPA and they have raised to $48.97.

Thanks for the caution about pressure regulation and the kill switch.
Sounds like I need to do some research.[:I]

That's a 12 volt pump. If you're in need of a 6 volt, then the #E8011 6 volt Electric Fuel pump is what you want. You can find them online for as low aw $48.00. look at the reference on the tech page. I previously checked with the manufaturere and verified they are good for up to 15% alcohol in gasoline. I recently purchased one for my 55 President. It is quiet and has an included fuel filter.
