Looking for a carburetor

Got a call from a guy who inheirited his Dads
'62 Hawk GT.289 4-speed car.He needs to
get it running in 2 weeks as his nephew
wants to use it in his wedding.Needs a
correct Stromberg 2bbl carb.I only have 259 carbs
which would work in a pinch but they are warped.
Anyone have a rebuildable one or a rebuilt one?

259 and 289 Carbs. are exactly the same.

Yes Rich,mine do look like that except they all
have about a 1/8 gap between top and bottom at the
gasket in the top pic.Oddly enough all 3 carbs are
warped in the same spot.If the carbs are all the same
what do the different carb numbers mean? There are 6-127
through 6-132 i.d. numbers in the books.Makes no difference
to me as long as they work.
BTW...a local chapter member stepped up and I can call the
guy tomorrow and he can pick up his carb.Another Studebaker
will be in a wedding!

As the '59-'64 Chassis Parts Catalog will tell you, the 6-127 thru 6-132 are YEAR MODELS! 6-132 is a 1964, 6-130 is a 1963 etc. Since the same Repair kit fits all of the "High Choke" and the other kit fits all of the "Low Choke" models the difference is very slight.

A rochester two barrel from a gm car will fit the openings and bolt pattern.

The Rochester won't work on the Studebaker manifold without a spacer block. The linkage hangs up.
