I'm going to replace the exhaust piping on the 64 Cruiser with NOS parts fron SASCO. What aftermarket muffler will fit the piping and give it some growl. Thanks in advance.

When using shorter than stock Mufflers, it will be necessary to use an extension pipe at the rear of Muffler which can also serve as an adapter if needed. [^]

Our 64' Cruiser has a pair of short turbo type mufflers and while it has a good throaty tone, it has begun to wear on us a bit in around town driving. It has that right through your head drone sound around 1500-1800 rpm which is in the 30 or so mph range of town driving. Out on the road it's fine. Just wanted to let you know that you could possibly encounter the same experience with short turbos.

Don Simmons at Silvertone Exhaust has great options. May even be better priced than SASCO for better quality. He's advertised in TW. Good luck.
Don had a deal with SASCO that may be history. He made all the mild steel pipes for SASCO, but only sold stainless direct.
