  • Lark heater refurb question

I drilled out the rivets that held the cardboard top onto the plastic diverter box (you know, where the flaps are that divert air to the defroster) so I could put new sealer material on the flaps.

I remember someone saying they'd refurbed the cardboard top by brushing it with a white glue / water solution, but I'd like something a little more waterproof. Is there a spray sealer that anyone would recommend for this? Mod Podge maybe?

I used goop glue and felt material from an art supply store. I glued two pieces front and back on the flap. It works great. I didnt remove the top of the box but I brushed the cardboard top with thinned carpenters glue to keep it fron deteriorating any further.

That heater box should not get wet under the dash its not underneath anything that should leak, yellow carpenders glue is pretty water resistant after it dries.

Cravin, that did the trick. Turned out pretty as new! Thanks!
