I was never confident that the brakes on my 62 Hawk worked correctly. I had to exert a very large force on the brake pedal to stop the car. There were times I actually felt I may bend the power brake arm because I was pushing soooooo hard.
In an attempt to solve this problem I installed the Turner disc brake conversion kit, new Hydrovac and also installed the Turner dual master cylinder kit. I believe the Turner kits worked great and moved the braking system to a higher level, but it was just the fact that I still had to push harder than normal.

So, I removed the old “power brake arm” and installed a manual brake arm.

Well I'm happy to report that the problem is now solved with the installation of a manual brake arm. The force I have to exert is now less than half …… and all this success “with the Hydrovac disconnected” (I bypassed the Hydrovac with new tubing jumpers).
Now my wife will drive the Hawk…..Hmmmm..
