The hardest thing was getting some "clean" shots without the crowds, especially around the Ute/Kart combination.

It doesn't get much better than that!

How sweet is that?! Was just thinking if Studebaker had done that, they would not be so special now. Amazing workmanship for sure.

Steve I've been waiting for a tale of someone trying to buy your car.
Perfect stance, and palm trees to boot. [8D]

The Ute is pretty low, but it sure looks high next to Steve's chopped and bagged convert [^].

BTW, Steve scored another GoodGuys "pick" at this show. I think that makes 4 for 4 for Steve at GoodGuys events. The "picks" are much coveted. Out of 3,000+ cars there, there were maybe 50 that were selected. GoodGuys sends out various car savvy folks including big name builders to find their favorite car. The "picks" are then displayed in a separate area on Sunday.

Hi Steve
Your car looks great! Please tell me about the headlights. Rings & lenses. Also, I was looking for one of your posts to reply to, as I would like to see pictures of your 53 project.
I have a 56 power hawk that I am customizing and turning ito a 53-54 car. My e-mail address is woodysrods@shaw.ca or anyone else who might read this post. I am also in real need of a 53-54 CK hood. have lots of stuff to trade.
Thanks Brian

Brian,
Go to "Members Studebaker Pictures" (about half way down the first page) for some information and additional pictures.
The headlights are copies of the Jag tri-bar headlights, and bolt right in place of the originals. Originally I did have real Jag lights, but being Lucas items, they were expensive and cheap. The copies are now available via several of the streetrod suppliers, and are reasonably priced and nicely made.
I just sold the spare hood I'd been saving a couple of weeks ago. Repros are available in fiberglass.
Below are a couple shots of the '53 project. The first was taken many years ago. The second is why it's now a project.
Good luck on your project.

It's rather complicated, but basically we had the hillside above decide to relocate to our front yard. Actually, the Starliner wasn't damaged that much, but it definitely took the shine off. I had just started the convertible project, so just tucked it away until I could get back to it. Now my son-in-law and I are bringing it back to life again.

Guess if I had not been in such a hurry to reply I would have realized you are in the Dalles. Can you share any more info about your car with me? If so Please e-mail me.
