  • 1964 Hawk grill

According to an article by Fred Fox in TW Oct 1992...

"The metal area behind the grill mesh was painted black on 1964 models..(regardless of body color) also the inner half of the under bumper air scoop was also painted black "

Can someone clarify that for me...does that mean whatever can be seen looking in through the grill must be black, or is there a specific area only that I need to be concerned with ?

    Thanks

Barry; the only part of the hood that shows through the grille that I know of, would be the lower part of the hood re-inforcement, that is the part that always ends up painted body color in error, make it flat black.

Not just the bottom, but also the tube bracing around the opening. ( I usually mask to the center of the mounting holes with the grill off. )
