The trunk lock housings for '62 & '63 Larks have been out of stock for at lest 6 months now at all the vendors. The problem with them is that damned pot metal "tail" that snaps off - too much leverage exerted by not enough material.
So I'm thinking about making my own, with a beefier cross section, and I've been pondering the best way to do it. I suppose the easiest way would be to cast a duplicate part from epoxy or resin, but I don't think that would hold up. I could always use brass or aluminum stock. Or there's non-traditional materials like Lucite.
Any thoughts?
