  • 1959 hawk engine color?

Hey I have a 1959 Silver Hawk 259 v-8 car. I am rebuilding the motor but the block was painted Silver, Orange and Gold. That is what paint colors I can see. What is the CORRECT engine color for this Model car. Thanks Allan

From memory - silver block, heads, oil pan, Black valve covers, oil cap, generator, starter and air cleaner. Silver p/s steering pump and fan/water pump. That's from the 59 Lark, but I think they are the same. But someone here will know for sure on the 59 Hawk. Russ Farris

Russ is correct in all aspects... good memory!

      ADDL:
      Oil filter stem- silver
Oil Filter- Redish orange w/decal (white)
      Bellhousing- silver overspray
Harmonic balancer (that thick steel plate on the crank)- Silver
Water Pump Pully- silver OR black (I have documented both colors)
      Lower crankshaft pulleys- Black
