  • 3 speed trans/linkage questions...

Was there a different 3 speed manual trans used on the 63-64 LARK V8s and the 65-66 Chevybaker V8 powered LARK types? Would the clutch linkage & pedals be interchangeable?
IE: early stuff into a 64-66 era ? THANKS.

The 65/66 V-8 trans has Chev bolt pattern and input shaft, uses Chev bellhousing, the lower clutch linkage parts are Chevelle. The rear of the trans looks like the earlier Stude version trans, longer than any Chev trans I've seen, I'm guessing it was used by Checker. The sixes used the same trans as 64 and older, with an adapter to the Chev bellhousing to take up the extra length of the Stude input shaft. I'm in the midst of changing a 66 wagon to standard, got my trans and associated parts from a 65 Cruiser, steering column and pedals from a 64. The upper linkage and pedals are the same as the earlier cars.
