Need help ID'ing some engines

Hi All,

Trying to some info for an SDC Member so he can get his '47 M15 truck engine back together, he has a bad piston and rod. His engine Serial is 2M17542.

I have a parts engine from an R-Series truck with Serial 860929.

Can someone help ID these two engines so we can make an determination if some parts will swap and he could use certain parts to rebuild his engine?

Any tips and help appreciated!

The 2M engine is from a M15A, the original engine possibly?
The other engine is a 1951 Champion. The block will have a different casting number, but still has a high degree of interchangeability.
