G P S

I read awhile back about someone having problems using a G P S in a Stude. We used one in a 51 to Cedar Rapids with no problem. We are still using the 6 voit so I hooked up 2 landern batteries in series to get 12 voits and it runs it fine.

I had installed an auxiliary 12 volt supply with a pair of cigar lighter taps. The GPS would not work unless the center of the tap was the +12. I had it backwards..

My Garmin has a battery in it, forgot to have it plugged in all the way in South Bend one time... It got me back to Iowa with no problem.
I have used it in the Avanti a lot and we even used it in the Daughter's '57 Transtar pickup a time or two.

How accurate were the speedometers ?
against the same GArmin UVI Our 96 Accord and 91 Volvo both are a few mph slow with original sized tires at 60 mph. 3 - 5 %
