While being mentored by the great Lark Parker in Cedar Rapids, I picked up a cheap Rockne hubcap to practice on once I got home.

So far, I have the stainless skin off of the steel "cap".

Dang. I hope Larry Tholen doesn't hear about this.

Now you can put it on eBay as TWO caps and you have doubled your investment.

If I can find a mirror I may sell a complete set.

Tomorrow I will see what sort of damage I can do with my Legendary Unnamed Hammer. I'll post some pics if I'm the least bit successful.

Chris, I paid all of $10 for the cap. I bought it from a vendor who had tons of Rockne parts, and at least a dozed hubcaps. I'm pretty sure I saw Larry T. there. So he, and everyone else at the meet, had the exact same opportunity to purchase the caps, just as I did. My goal is to make it as good as new, and hang it on my wall. Gotta practice somehow.

I may send you an oil pan next for your first gig if this works out. No shiny stuff, just dent repair with Maxwell's silver hammer.

Huh. Who would've thought that a Rockne hubcap skin was brass?

I can't wait til the buffer I ordered gets here.

              Matthew,
It hurts me to think you would pass this off as the same cheap Rockne hub cap you bought at CeRap last week.

There must be. That's all I can figure.

I don't think Matthew would do that.
                  He was taught:
                  1. Take a picture of a nice one
                  2. Beat it up in stages -- taking pictures at each stage
                  3. [u]Reverse</u> the picture sequence to show work
                  4. Act outraged if anyone asks questions
