Wet sanding, buffing & polishing's finished. Now it's just the simple task ([}][V][B)]) of reassembling it all without scratching anything! [?]

As far as reassembly without scratching...that is a good reason to save all those old bedspreads, comforters, and beach towels. Keep the pics coming. We are enjoying your progress.

BTW, you may remember I said I was going to modify the BU lites to serve as turn signal lites as well. Here's a fixture modified to accept a second bulb socket. The inboard socket will be the back-up lite - will have a clear bulb and the lens will have a partition to isolate the glow of that bulb, although that might prove to be not necessary.

The outboard socket will carry an amber bulb for the turn signal function. This way, both brake filaments will respond to the brake lite switch whether the turn signal lever is displaced or not - since the brake lite circuit will be independent of the TS switch henceforth. The turn signal switch will handle strictly turn signals from now on, and I'll have amber signals fore and aft.

Bob; those Turn Signals are going to look just Peachy, or is it Almondy where you live? [^] Nice job!

You did check the Bulb to Lens clearance, right Clarence? [B)] I just noticed that the new single contact Turn Sig. sockets look closer to the lens than the Tail light sockets.

On my stock '58 President, the Lenses get melted when lit too long, because of the chromed steel star ornaments on the lens and the bulb closeness, so I will have to use LED's to prevent that.

Maybe you could get away with using the smaller License Light Bulbs instead of the larger back-Up Light Bulbs.

Appreciate all the positive comments. Again, it's Blue Mist metallic - a 63 color. The interior is made up of NOS trim in blue.

As to the lights, bulb clearance was a consideration from the get-go. I can use an interior light bulb in the added socket, but the stock B/U lite bulb does clear the lens by about 3/16ths of an inch. Given it's likely that the BU lites would ever be on for more than a minute, I'm not too concerned about lens meltdown.
BTW, I'm using the "dummy" BU lite bodies that Stude used if you opted out on BU lites. The dummy units were the same as the working units except they don't have any socket fitted whatsoever! So I have to drill two holes to use these. One hole for each socket. The reason I'm using these dummy fixtures is that until recently, SASCO had them (both left and right) for real cheap - but with nice chrome! All they have left is lefts now.
OH! I have to drill another hole in the body back panel for the socket back to stick into the trunk area as well.

Nice plan with the tail lights, Biggs. Bet you wish that hole had been drilled prior to the Blue Mist paint. At least it's fresh so a small drill with some masking tape shouldn't chip it too badly. I had that scare with my reel antenna hole drilling. I approached from below first to be accurate on top, but you have fresh paint on both sides. I still don't know why I didn't do it before I had it painted as I already had the NOS antenna. You've only been through this a gazillion times. Can't wait to see the finished product. What a difference from your first picture posts. [^][^][^]
