  • manual flywheels

Were the 6-bolt pattern for V8 cranks slightly different? I have what I think is a truck flywheel. The hole pattern on this flywheel is very close to the pattern on my '55 259 motor/crank. Not close enough however.

Do I need to find a manual flywheel from a passenger car? If that's the case, does anyone have one?

One of the holes is offset a few thousandths...
Try putting the flywheel on 'each' bolt.
It will only go on 'one' way.
Note that the manual trans flywheel bolts are longer than the a/t bolts.

Thanks for help! I did put in the longer bolts. I'll give it a try and see if I can make that flywheel work.
