Looks like fun! Did they tech the cars first? Surprised they let you run even street cars without taking the hubcaps off first. or maybe they just do that around here.

                  Yes, they tech you first...
But they were pretty lenient when they saw the extreme speed most were applying...
Strict they weren't. They let a kid run his quad runner in a t-shirt, and late made him borrow a race jacket...
(like that would do any good if he got tossed)

Great Pics Jeff! [^] Wow, Challengers are coming out the woodwork! A Moonlight Silver one, a Jet Green one to add to the Plain Brown Commander and two Plain Brown Wrapper type Challengers.

Maybe we should call them the Jet Thrust '64 Rat Pack, like the "bad boy" Studebaker Engineers group!

And a new Jet Green Daytona Hardtop, and '63 Rose Mist Daytona Hardtop all new to the Stude. Drags and Musclecar Drags as far as I can tell from here, Turning Wheels etc. [^]

They all ran strong like they were R1 or R2 Powered, but most had mufflers and weak springs without Traction Bars, which was keeping them from connecting like they could have, to do a lot better.

I understand of course that if you are street driving them home or competing in the Musclecar Drags you need a complete exhaust system, but trailered cars like 41Frank's would run better with cutouts at least, not that he needs to go much faster, Lol!

The first Challenger in video 5 is an R4 4 speed. It's Rich Meadows' car and had it's first runs at our May Studebaker/Orphan drags here in Brown County. He just starting to tune it for the PSMCDR.

We made it home and had a blast at the drags. Turned an all time best et of 13.99 and a best speed of 97.05. I only run 1/8th mile around home but my 1/8th mile times were better here also, 9.00 flat at 79mph. This was second fastest of the meet,Steve Doerschlag with the silver 64 Challenger turned a 13.85 with his R-3 powershift on one of his runs. I believe Bob Palma will put up a more complete rundown of the everyones times turned when he returns home.
