Wait, wait, wait, wait! Is it Lionel Stone that's being discussed here? Is he dead or something[?][:0]

Found the other thread. Yeah, could someone post information for flowers, or a fund?

By the by, John, I don't think it would be taboo, but touching and thoughtful. Though I wouldn't give up on Lionel quite yet.

Speaking of which, does anyone know his condition? I don't envy him when he wakes up, poor fellow.:(

I don't know what the proper parliamentary procedures would be, but perhaps someone could contact their zone coordinator and get it done through the club treasury. Then it could be handled in a dignified and orderly manner with donations handled properly.

I guess i wouldn't worry too much about that. If 289Stude is willing to collect the money and wire the flowers, I think that would work fine.

A lot of Forum members are probably on the road to Cedar Rapids now, and don't know about this news, but hopefully there are enough of us here that we can fund John's idea.

I think it would be good to send flowers to both Lionel in the hospital so he knows we have heard and are thinking of him, as well as the vendor table.

I would be happy to contribute, as Dick said just us how to send the money.

Hey guys I will take care of everything, the banquet hall manager where the parts vendors will be set up is supposed to call me tonight. They are having a wedding today so nothing will be done until tommorrow morning.

I will make a new post for where to send donations. This trip is costing me plenty as it is so maximum expossure will be needed (don't get me wrong I don't mind but will need help) . I will also contact the son in law to get Lionels room number and send him some flowers also. all this will be done in the name of SDC Forum Members. We can figure out what to do wiith any monies left over if we get that far.

I wouldn't turn his spot into a shrine, but I think a few sets of flowers would be very tasteful.

Some hospitals don't allow flowers in the ICU. I tried to bring some to my mother several years ago and had to leave them with the receptionist in the lobby, so someone might want to check on that....

Dear Studebaker Friends,
I am Lionel and Elaine's daughter and have read and responded to 2-threads so far. Thank you all for your best wishes for my father and thoughts about my lovely mother. I did post information about his condition on the 'Sad News' thread.

As for flowers, I wouldn't send them to the ICU as his room is filled right now with machinery. Cards would be nice and we can post them for him to see when he becomes more alert.

Also, please someone take a photo for me at the meet table so I and my sisters can enjoy your best wishes. My direct email is:
paula4bellingham@gmail.com.

Also I mentioned in the flowers thread that if anyone wishes, I will be working to create a garden memorial for my mother and donations can be directed to: Congregation Beth Israel, New Synagogue Fund (in honor of Elaine Stone), 2200 Broadway, Bellingham, Washington 98225.

Feel free to contact me directly if you wish and I will post information about funeral arrangements and Lionel's condition.
We love reading your memories of my Mom and Dad who is hanging in there.

Thanks for the photos being posted. I have saved them and my sisters and I are creating a memory book with all the wonderful comments in these threads to help us on the low days. The Studebaker family is wonderful! As soon as we can, we will pass all your thoughts and prayers on to Lionel.

A note about my wonderful mother, Elaine Stone...
My mom's funeral will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, July 21st,
Groman Eden Mortuary
11500 Sepulveda Blvd
Mission Hills, CA 91345-1132
(818) 365-7151

You will be directed to the chapel and then there will be a graveside service. Anyone who wishes is welcome to come afterward to my sister Pattie's home to visit with the family. Information will be handed out at the service.

Thank you all for your love, prayers and comments. We all loved our Mother dearly, but only knew her as our 'Mom'. Hearing the love going out to her as 'Elaine' warms our hearts.

Paula Friedman, for Pattie Stone and Diana Abramovich
(I will post on all the threads I can find; sorry for the repeating)
