In the mid-1950's, White Motors used a Packard engine in some of their trucks.

I would like to be at a Packard meet and see someone drive that in. :D

I think it's a pretty cool concept- but more than I'd want to tackle...

Maybe someday- but right now I'm too busy trying to learn all I can about my beloved Studebakers ;)

I really like it. It would be cooler with a souped up Stude inline 8 and a late 30's Standard series cab. [8D]

According to George Hamlin, invatation was extended to owners of Whites and 1955-early '56 AMC products that used a Packard engine to attend the 100th Anniversary of Packard in Warren, Ohio in 1999. I'm not sure if any showed up or not, though.

On another note, I am waiting to see mid-nineties, medium duty cabover Kenworth deck truck(I forget the series off hand, but the one made by VW) to be hauling in a vintage Type 2 drop-side truck
to a Volkswagen meet. The vintage Type 2 would wear the famous "When I want to grow up, I want to be a Kenworth!" bumper sticker and have a new one made for the Kenworth baged VW that reads
"I grew up to be a Kenworth!" just to see how many, including the meet organizers would clue in...
