  • A pillar support

I was looking in the chasis book on my 1961 hawk and it shows the different body supports as not being part of the frame, does that mean they can be unbolted? The drivers side pillar suport in my car is rusted and not broken, as I jacked the car up last night I noticed the crunching sounds coming from it. looking at that support and others is it safe to say they can be unbolted?

If it's like my 53, the supports are welded to the body and are not part of the frame. Classic Enterprises reproduces the supports.

Yes, that "wing" crossmember unbolts from the frame rails. Four bolts to each rail and one on each end - of course, from the looks of your floors, the end bolts may not BE there![:I]
