I recently purchased a very nice 1951 Champion convertible. I have the shop manual but it doesn't list anything on the convertible top mechanism or any diagrams for it. Where might I be able to obtain some exploded views and parts numbers?

Buy the body parts manual that are readily available from many SDC vendors. They give a complete breakdown on convertible top parts in exploded diagram. Extremely helpful!

That's the only drawback to buying used original manuals. The factory always tried to get the shop manuals printed and circulated as quickly as possible. Often the body section would be sent along later, as was the case with the '51 manual. The convertible section (12 pages) came even later.

My '51-'52 body parts catalog reprint does not have any convertible top pictures. I was going to suggest that before I checked mine.Comment
