I need to make new battery cables and would like to know the proper size wire to use. The car is 6 volts (51 Champion 6 cylinder). Thanks for your help.

2 gauge is the smallest size cable that I would use. 1 or 0 would be better. Bud -
Go to a tractor supply and buy 00 cables (double odd they are called)
Autozone has 0 ( called odd) cables ready to go also but much more expensive.

I made my own from 00 welding cable, run the ground to a starter bolt
