  • interesting find at a California Rest Stop

On my recent nearly "Border to Border" trip up Interstate Five, I stopped at one of the many rest areas. Imagine my surprise when I found this~

I'm pretty sure it was at the Northern-most California rest area... [?] [?] [?]
Looking at the pictures I now see that you can't read the tailgate. Bummer.

    It does indeed read "S T U D E B A K E R" [:0] [^]

I guess it would not fit in the dumpster so they just left it there, happens now and then , one day about 2 years ago left in a church parking lot was a "c" cab short bed box made into a trailer filled with junk, I asked at the office if they knew any thing about it ? answer no some one just left it there for us to get rid of I guess , no license plate either, I told them I would remove it if the didn't care , sure go ahead so now I have a blue trailer , sold the tail gate for $100.00 and buyer got a really good deal as it was a nice one, still has the stock wheels and no rust , so always be on the look out never know...Bob

Uhhh, no Bob- this one was licensed and working- look again- there is stuff in it.
It's also inside a locked gate...

I use a trailer like that around the property here. And it was a freebie too.

          1957 Transtar 1/2ton
          1963 Cruiser
          1960 Larkvertible V8
          1958 Provincial wagon
          1953 Commander coupe
          1957 President two door

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I was just kidding about putting in to the dumpster, and they sure do make a nice quick trailer, I have had a few in the past.

Hey, guess what I found next to the dumpsters in back of the medical center down the street from me!

My wife and I were tooling around on our bikes and I spotted the shape of the fenders about half a mile away [|)] Looks like the truck it was from was two-tone white over red. Funny how these things pop up in clusters

Whoa!!! That one looks very much like the one I've been hanging onto for just such a conversion-
but mine doesn't look quite that good!!!
