    Does anyone have any info on Milton Motors in
    Oakland, California from the eraly 1960's?

    Guess what they are not in business any more, they were on Broadway in Oakland, my 1963 Standard came from there also my replacement engine was ordered from them in 1974. why do you ask??...Bob

      Bob,

      Thanks for the reply. I ordered a production order
      for my '63 Avanti from the people in Michigan. I
      haven't received it yet, but she read some of the info
      to me over the phone. She said it was delivered new to
      Milton Motors in Oakland. There is a plaque on the console
      that says it was built for "The Carlile Family".
      It is a 27,000 mile car with the original engine.

        I bought parts from them in '69 or '70. By then they weren't selling cars any more, just parts. I think the only people there were Mr and Mrs Milton, both fairly elderly.

          I have found out that they were still in business
          as of 1966 and still selling Studebakers, at least
          Avanti II's.

          According to www.theavanti.com RQA0040 was purchased
          there.

            My replacement engine was ordered through them in 1974 by the past owner of my 63 standard...I don't remember the family name , but Carl of Studebaker's West in Redwood city might know something as he and his brother still service Studebaker's and Avanti's give him a call 650-366-8787 Monday-Friday closed from 12-1 for lunch pst...Bob
