The FOM in my 58 Hawk makes an intermittent buzzing sound in "Park" that goes away when I slip the lever into "Neutral".
Any idea what is going on?

I had the same problem o a 62 lark. I adjusted the kickdown linkage and trans pressure per the shop manual and the problem went away.

If your ATF fluid is up to the full level, hot, running in Drive, car level, wheels blocked, then the Throttle pressure adjustment is likely the result, but the CAUSE usually is collapsed, oil soaked, old, Rear engine mounts and if they are old, the fronts are probably not far behind.

Also check for a necessary 1/2" thick cast iron spacer under ONLY the Left rear engine mount to frame.

Many thanks for the tips; I'll look into those things,
thankfully, I have a shop manual.
