Sasco should have the whole latch, nos, cad plated, with spring. I've seen the bin full of them IIRC.

Dave are you sure you know what the 54 looks like it is far different than a lark, might be different from coupe to sedan also...Bob

hope it will help someone used two door flipper springs with a few modification tryed one spring , felt better with two , I have allway been scared of my hood comeing open on my other car with stock spring, guess Im just a worry-wart gary blalock alvin tx.

The safety latch spring on my '48 had broken. I took a spring from an old wooden clothes pin and made one. Works great!
