Gord Richmond stopped by for a few days, so I enlisted his support as a camera man.

Here's our short video of the Ute driving...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPTf5Ir7iPg

The first in car sequence is through all 3 gears, then into OD. The OD shift is so smooth and the engine noise so low that you wouldn't be able to tell unless I mentioned it. Gord did a SWEET job on both the engine and transmission in this car :D.

I can't imagine how the two of you managed to spend that much time together without saying one word.

Its a great car and a great ride, thanks.

You need to get Keystone Automotive as a sponsor....
(or drive a block over more often...)
That sign is in about every video you've done;):D[|)]

Can't mistake that sound for anything else but a Studebaker. Sounds great Dick.[:p]

I've enjoyed reading and following this build from start to finish. I have to tell you the story of you finding the original owner/builder and him being interviewed at the Rod show is probably tops. But to see and hear it go down the road man it really doesn't get any better than that. Love the click click of the gear selection and noticable STUDE exhaust note.
Whats next Dick?

The UTE's 259 sounds just like my Dad's Trans Am with a 455, flowmaster exhaust, roller rockers, but basically stock. The 455 is nearly twice as big![8D]

Dunno. I've got that '63 Lark with a Chevy that I need to finish, then there is a very nice '62 Lark Regal hardtop right behind that that is crying to be back on the road.

I need to sell the Ute before I take on another BIG project. I'm not sure I can ever top the story that goes along with the Ute on ANYTHING...that was pure luck and half the fun of the project.

Something will find me, I'm sure. [^]

That's what the loud pedal is for, isn't it :D

Actually, I remember trying to round up participants for the drags in Omaha that 41Frank organized. I was surprised (and disappointed) that there were many stock R powered Studes there and only a few chose to race them. I heard from MANY owners that they would NEVER drive a car THAT way. I think we had more Chevy powered cars at the drags than Studebaker powered ones.

Come on you stockers...you're missing a big part of the fun of the hobby. [^]

Dick, my estimation of you went up another 100 points! Many guys would be afraid to take a beauty like that on the street at all, let alone work her out. Hats off to you, my man!

Can't believe you're even willing to sell her, though. I don't think I could even think about it if she were mine.
