  • Moving, getting settled, and a Meeting

As many of you may know I have FINALLY made the BIG move home back to Washington State. Due to the amount of crap I had in California I needed to use a U-Haul as well as the mover provided by the NAVY. Sweet Pea enjoyed the ride- I'm sure of it. Every other move I've made she had to work hard, this time not so much~

Yesterday was Whatcom County SDC's monthly meeting. This month it was held at BP Park~ a park for employees of the British Petroleum refinery at Cherry Point- not 10 miles from Dad's house. I drove Baby out to that~

At the meeting our Drive Your Studebaker Day signs made their first appearance (typos and all!!!)

We'll get them fixed before the parade in Blaine.

To add a little bit to this story~

Once I got up here, I knew I would need a place for my stuff as Dad's garage/house is already overflowing as it is. Four of my cars are/were in his garage, so I 'helped' get it that way I suppose.
I came up with a plan, and Dad found what I needed two weeks before I got here.

    (about 1000 square feet downstairs)

and upstairs we have 640 more square feet~

    That ought to work, right?

          Superb!
          Consider yourself lucky...
I am just now putting up the shelving in my futureshop and shuffling stuff around that I have not touched since my move...
And that was more than two years ago[V]
But it feels so darned good to be 'home'....
          Congrats..

Dave your NW adventure is doing great so far.

You got a great shop there!

You have already been testing out the Cascade Mountain roads

You already got a trophy fitting in with some great cars

You even got to spot some unusual Studes

How about a free Sedan delivered for parts, or gasser?

Oh well, there are always a few diamonds in the rough (or at least a couple nugget parts)!

Yes, thanks, James for the thoughtful pictures and kind words you took time to add here for our friend Dave. Looks like the weather was remaining stable for the folks at these events.
Yes Dave, your new storage palace is just what 'your girls' have needed for sometime. I'm certain it'll turn a fresh page toward positive thinking.

The site of the Whatcom County Chapter June Meeting at the BP Refinery at Cherry Point, WA Campgrounds and Picnic Park is an excellent site for the (almost) exclusive use of BP Employees only.

It is large, clean, well equipped with Rest Rooms, picnic tables, a shelter, many large Grills (Bar-B-Q), serving tables and many hook-up equipped RV campsites.

This made a great place for our pot-luck luncheon in the Park.

Many thanks to Tom Robins, Chapter Vice Pres. and BP Employee, for arranging our visit. [^]
