Excellent exposure for the truck-that-never-was![^] It won't have to travel very far two years from now. The ATHS meet will be in South Bend in 2011.

Some of our local Studebaker lovers are members of the AHTS, and recent local truck shows have been spectacular - with plenty of Studebaker presence.

We have a very active ATHS chapter here on the south part of Vancouver Island and they have an annual meet every July. I have been unable to make it up to this year due to scheduling conflicts.
I also note that they have not had a single Studebaker truck in the past 4 years, so I will correct that this July!

I am not a member of the ATHS, but attended one of their gatherings near High Point, NC, a few years ago at the urging of a fellow Studebaker owner, who has since passed away. It was a very interesting experience. My Champ was the only Studebaker there. There was a Packard Produce truck from the teens there. I could not believe the number of big, and I mean over the road haulers, that came to that event. Brands that I had never heard of before. Most carefully restored, but all very, very interesting. It was a great time. I might have to check to see about the nearest ATHS group near me.

Just to raise some cain, I sent the pix of the prototype truck to a model builder I know.
Asked him if he'd like to scratchbuild some scale curbside models of this truck for collectors with money for good work.
                    Anyone interested?
