  • Anyone run into problem Jim Pepper did in TW?

What I am referring to is the Lark body crossmember hitting a GM trans bellhousing when installing a GM motor and trans in a Lark? In this months TW he has a excellent repair for the issue, but I have not run into that problem yet,and I am sure Dick would have said if he did on his project Lark.Anyone else?

Hmmm...I don't have my June TW yet, so I'm not sure what the prob was.

On my install, the bellhousing didn't come anywhere near the crossmember. The trans pan is close however. Pics here in my first post in this thread...

I am using a B&M deep tranny pan on my TH350,so i cut a relief in the center of the crossmember, but I kept it there for the obvious reasons.I can't imagine what bellhousing hit.

I haven't read the article either, but maybe he left the stock x-member for the bellhousing mounts in place?
