  • Champ Pickup question

Does the Champ pick up use the same rims as a Champ car? Is the 3/4 ton rims like the old style rims like from a 58 transtar? How many lugs are there? Is a 1960 Champ pickup rim the same as a 1964? I think that about covers it. Thank you in advance

I'll answer some of these... others will also chime in I'm sure!

    1. No, the trucks use different rims than the cars - I think a 1/2 inch wider in most cases.

2 & 3. A 3/4 ton Champ uses the same 8 bolt wheel as the 3/4 ton Transtar trucks did - although other wheel sizes (up to 17.5" were available).

    4. Remember that you could still get either 15" or 16" wheels for 1/2 ton Champ pickups in 1960 while by '64 it was quite rare to see any Champs with 16" wheels (and I'm not sure they were standard from the factory).

I don't think there were any champ cars. Champion is shortened to champ, but the champ is a t-cab pickup. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

Well I meant Larks sorry the pickups and the Larks share the same style. Its been a long day. A friend was given a truck . It has flat tires . Trying to see if we had anything that would work for him. Thank you for the help.
Is the bolt pattern the same?

The "T" cab champ truck uses the 5x5 bolt pattern, the car uses the 4 1/2 x 5 pattern, you can use the 5 lug chevy truck rims on the"T" cab drums, that is why you some times see the chevy rally wheels used on trucks...Bob

Anne If its 8 lug I was told once that is a unified lug pattern. Any (at least older) 8 lug should bolt up,just watch offsets. Steve.
