Starting back in the early days of drag racing wheelcovers were removed from cars before racing . This was to prevent caps from coming off and possibly hitting someone or some windshield or what have you. It was a safety issue thing. Running your car around town without wheel covers was supposed to signify a race car. Thus the idea for and upgrade by some to chrome wheels. no chitt. jimmijim

I'd say that palm tree was in the extreme south section of Washington state near San Diego.

...Running your car around town without wheel covers was supposed to signify a race car.

I think the race care drivers name is Dave. [8D] He races the west coast from WA to CA. [8]

People might still ask what year the car is.

Thanks for posting that Rich. I'll be sure to let her know how good she looks!!! Credit for that photo goes to Clark (Showbizkid). He captured Sweet Pea in front of his house during one of my visits. Barney enjoyed the company, I'll bet!!!
She's cap-less because the only ones that fit those wheels are for '40 Fords. I didn't like their look, so I put them on 'Baby' instead. New wheels with 'better' caps are going on this car in the next few weeks.

There are race tracks in this car's future BTW~ no chitt!!!
One day she'll be better trained to turn right AND left... [:0]

Some nut named Dave is the driver, yes. Believe it or not- people do ask- even as they read the one in the rear as I'm filling her up at a gas station~ go figure!!! [:0] [V] [xx(]
