  • Lark 2 tone paint ?

Thinking about changing the colour of the lark. Did Studebaker offer
2 tone paint in '59 ? I like to stick with the factory look. And what are my chances of getting some interior NOS parts in black ,white or brown. What has SASCO left in stock ?

It was covered well in this thread:

To answer the paint question directly - NO two-tone Larks in 1959, with the possible exception of fleet orders.

Thanks for the info guys . I'll keep it one colour. Now I have to
find some interior parts. Good luck ,eh ?

Just thinkin' .... why would Studebaker not offer two tone
paint schemes in 1959. Didn't the Big Three offer this
option ? What were they [ studebaker ]thinking ???? No wonder they went T's U .

1973 ... working at the fillin' station ...co-worker has his dad two tone his 53 Chevy . Went from dull factory white to white and dark blue ..chevy colours of course ...It was an amazing transformation ..

Better than a barn find , said dude bought this lo mile 2dr 6banger from an elderly lady neighbour ..IT HAD ORIGINAL -but bald-RUBBER

Take it off my hands sonny boy , the tires are worn out ...LOL

        True story .

My thoughts on that? They were too busy sellin' those '59 Larks to worry about two tone paint!!!
More '59s were built then just about all other years~ not counting 1950, of course...

Dave , do you know the actual sales numbers ? It is my understanding that the 59 Lark saved Studebakers bacon -allowing another 7 years to it's survival .

By model year, 1959 (cars) production was 138,866. They never got that high again and it was the highest year since 1953 when there were 169,599. 1950 was the high year with 344,164.
