  • Turn signals.

    Hi all,

In my wagon, the turn signal works, but you can hardly feel the indents in the mechanism when you move the turn signal actuator. Has anyone ever fixed a probelem like this? Do you have to remove the steering wheel to do this? Or is there another way to do it?

    Thanks,

Yes Dylan, you have to use a standard steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel to see the turn signal switch and cancel unit with little plastic "fingers" that control the left and right lever position, the plastic part of the switch can be replaced with the Turn Signal Cancel supplied by Studebaker Vendors.

Darn, is there a way to remove it without damaging the steering wheel? Mine is still pretty nice, and I have heard of others practicly destroying the center of theres.

You can make a steering wheel puller that is in two pieces. I have to pull my steer wheel off to replace it myself, but it shouldn't be that difficult to accomplish. When I build mine, I'll show you a picture of it, or you can borrow mine.
