  • Transmission ??

    Striped out a wrecked 56 Commander today for parts for my 2 56 Commanders. The motor was gone but in the trunk was a radiator which fits and a transmission. on the side under the shifting levers it has
    GM 20 3743368 K117 Did Studebaker use GM transmission?

      Thanks for the quick response. I didn't think they did but you never know. Some more stuff to go to the swap meet.

        Saginaw 3 speed used between 1958 and 1963.
        If it's O.D. equipped they can be worth $250-$350

              All I've EVER seen in Stude cars are Borg-Warner units - stick OR auto!

              1958 Provincial wagon
              1953 Commander coupe
              1957 President two door

              No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
