  • Replacing springs on gas tank filler door

I cannot figure out how to put the springs back on the door of the gas tank filler tube opening.

I see that the opposite ends of each of the springs are slightly different but, I cannot remember even how to begin to put the springs in place again, much less which end goes where. I cannot find anything about it in my shop manual-though, I may just be overlooking it.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

I don't have a macro lens. This poor picture may or may not help.

Thanks so much for going to the trouble of taking and sending the picture. I think that I have a pretty good idea how it works now. I was wanting to "hook" the center of the spring around something and couldn't figure it out. I understand now that only the ends are attached.

      Thanks again,
