Regular sedans (W bodies) were that way.

This car is a Land Cruiser (Y-body) they sit on 120".

                Geez, that's PURDY!

I love this thing - make no mistake about it. But I can't help but wonder about one little detail on these sedans of this year....

As much as Bourke and gang tried to keep these 53s clutter-free, WHY the little "chrome" strip over the rear wheel well??? It looks SO out of place on an otherwise CLEAN design. I've ALWAYS thought this bit of brightwork was really odd.

Beautiful car anyways! I love the Maui Blue![]

Sorta makes you wonder even more about what they did to them in '54 then, don't it [?] [?] [?]

Yea-- it's ALL coming off when I get to that car!!!

That's Mike prepping 'Ruby' for a ride over the Cascades to Dad's Place.
Ruby is a '54 Commander Regal- the highest trimmed sedan below the Land Cruiser.
Dad has a '54 LC f/s, BTW- but it's not as good looking as the topic picture. Yet.

Refreshing change Rich. I like it! []

I always liked those one-off '53 Sedan Only, front bumper guards! If you did not know better, you would think that the nice looking, also narrow type guards used on '62 to '66 Larks and Lark Types were made from the same die! [^]
