I took last week off work specifically to clean the yard, prune the hedges, defrost the freezer and work on Désirée. I had the oportunity to get the '53 up on the hoist in the shop where she's been coming apart and going together for the past six years.
Had a hit list of all the little things needing completed underneath: wiring, gravel guard, heater hoses, speedometer cable, starter, new one-piece propeller, linkages, etc., etc. Also got my wheels sandblasted and ready for primer.

Patterson Machine in Philipsburg, Pa made a new propeller shaft for $75 and threw in new u-joints for $52.

Now, all systems are ready for fluids, and it's time to order tires.

On the Photobucket site, on the left you can select "Newest Uploads" for Saturday's pictures of the undercarriage. Or, select album 1953</u> to review past history.

Désirée is looking good, Brad. I hope to see her in person soon.

I'm not a mechanic; I don't even play one on TV.

She's looking great Brad. Can't wait to see her out in the sunlight! [8D]
